This course examines the foundation of cultural anthropology; how people function in their environment. Areas of foundational study will include the structure of culture and society; cultural and worldview change, worldview (religion and ideology), communication, economic organization, technology, kinship, and life cycle. Areas of application will include an exploration of cultural dynamics in ministry. How does culture influence the execution and experience in culture?

This is a directed study course: the instructor will develop the course of study with the student including instruction, related experiential activities, and assessment of learning outcomes for this course. Students will take this course at a distance with the option of attendance in classes and face-to-face interaction with the instructor.
