Distance Education Course: Students will learn effective counseling skills that will guide the student in a variety of real-life helping situations.

Course Description: This is a practice-oriented course with the goal of learning effective counseling skills that will guide the student in a variety of helping situations. Students will use the text and companion workbook titled, “The Skilled Helper.” Through this model, students will learn to develop an effective caring relationship, to listen and empathize, to probe, to challenge, to plan and to motivate action.
