Distance Education Course: Biblical foundations of the role of music and worship in the ministry of the local church.

This course is an introduction to the Biblical foundations of the role of music and worship in the ministry of the local church.Students will engage in a thorough investigation of theological and philosophical issues related to preparing for worship services and other occasions.

This course may be taken as a Professional Studies Course: DEPS-1104 or as a General Studies Course: DEGS-1103

    Instructor:  Jay Dyrland

Biography: Jay and his wife Kathy-Sue, along with their three children (Jacob, Katie, and Holly) live in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

Jay serves as the Worship Director of Heartland Alliance Church. Jay looks forward to skiing with his family in the mountains, and his passions include teaching people towards a greater theological understanding of who/why/how we worship.

On a hot summer day Jay likes to make a pilgrimage to Starbucks for a nice cool Iced Mocha!

Bachelor of Religious Education from Vanguard College
MA in Worship Studies at Briercrest Seminary, Caronport Saskatchewan
Certificate in Cinema, Television, Stage and Radio Arts from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, Calgary Alberta
